High JVM memory usage from deployment of ESB archive

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

We are deploying an ESB archive to a standalone JBoss SOA-P instance created from "all" profile. This ESB archive has about 73 services defined and most of them are SOAPProxies.

Upon deployment of this ESB archive, I can see from JConsole that the JVM memory usage goes up to about 1.5GB. Even if I force a garbage collection, the JVM heap utilization level is not reduced. After I undeploy the ESB archive, the JVM memory usage comes to about 500MB.

Environment

JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform (SOA-P) 5.2.0
