qdiskd utilizing a large amount of memory in a RHEL 5 High Availability cluster

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • The qdiskd memory usage was high:
# ps -C qdiskd -o user,pid,pcpu,pmem,size,vsize,cmd

USER PID %CPU %MEM SZ VSZ CMD
root 12836 3.7 15.9 10487200 10495048 qdiskd -Q
  • qdiskd seems to have a memory leak

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 with the High Availability Add On
  • cman-2.0.115-118.el5 (this may affect other releases as well)
  • <quorumd/> in /etc/cluster/cluster.conf
    • qdiskd is running
