After upgrading RHEV-M to 3.5.1 and RHEV-H to 7.1, fencing with ilo4 no longer works

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3.5.1
  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor (RHEV-H) 7.1 (20150420.0.el7ev)
  • vdsm-4.16.13.1-1.el7ev.x86_64
  • fence-agents-all-4.0.11-11.el7_1.x86_64

Issue

  • After upgrading RHEV-M from 3.4.5 to 3.5.1 and the hypervisor hosts from RHEV-H 6.6 to 7.1, fencing with ilo4 no longer works.
  • Error reported:
Failed: Unable to obtain correct plug status or plug is not available

Resolution

Workaround is to add lanplus=1 in the Options box that is in the Power Management Setup of the Host.

Root Cause

BZ 1221312 has been opened to correct this behaviour.
