Server rebooted while using 'hpacucli' utility

Issue

  • Server rebooted while using hpacucli utility to do a configuration change with HP Smart Array controller.
    At the time of reboot there were following messages logged on system console:
hpsa 0000:05:00.0: Acknowledging event: 0xc0000000 (HP SSD Smart Path configuration change)
hpsa 0000:05:00.0: Direct-Access     device c0b0t0l1 updated.
hpsa 0000:05:00.0: Abort request on C0:B0:T0:L0
Kernel panic - not syncing: Watchdog detected hard LOCKUP on cpu 0
