The kickstart installation is installing bootloader in to out USB device and corrupts it in Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • The kickstart installation is installing bootloader in to our USB device and corrupts it.
  • The USB device is used for providing a kickstart file and installation tree.
  • The system has a local hard disk (sda), and the USB device is detected as sdb.
  • We used the following kickstart command.
bootloader --location=mbr --driveorder=sda --append="quiet"
  • But, the bootloader was installed into sdb.
