Getting "buffer_get_string" error for sftp.

Issue

  • Getting following errors on messages file:

    Apr 17 17:09:59 <auth.err> hostname sftp-server[24741]: error: buffer_get_string_ret: bad string length 529369
Apr 17 17:09:59 <auth.crit> hostname sftp-server[24741]: fatal: buffer_get_string: buffer error
    • Getting below error even after appending rss public key to remote server:
Trying below from primary server after configuring rsa key:
[user@server]$ ssh someuser@1.2.3.4
Connection closed by 1.2.3.4

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • SSH
