Large message files not necessarily deleted from disk

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Using HornetQ 2.2.24-GA running in JBoss EAP 5.2.0 container, each message considered large by HornetQ and publish to a topic end up with a corresponding *.msg file in the large-message directory on the disk. If there is no subscriber on the topic at the time the messages are produced, these *.msg files are never deleted, and the disk eventually fills up.

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 5.2
  • HornetQ
    • 2.2.24
