after applying patch 01 to 3.3.0 JON fails to start with "ERROR [org.rhq.server.control.RHQControl] error=13, Permission denied" message
Issue
- We get this error after applying the patch following the instructions sent with the patch:
[root@VRHNDCJONAPPPRA bin]# ./rhqctl start

10:10:42,128 ERROR [org.rhq.server.control.RHQControl] error=13, Permission denied

Error when starting JON; file permissions and ownership. Who should own the directories and files? What should the permissions be? I am running CentOS 7

- Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (JON) 3.3.0
- Downloaded Red Hat JBoss Operations Network 3.3 Update 01;
- On Linux: unzipped Red Hat JBoss Operations Network 3.3 Update 01 using
jar- for instance:
jar xvf jon-server-3.3-update-01.zip
- On Windows: unzipped Red Hat JBoss Operations Network 3.3 Update 01 using
7-zip
