Raid6 raid-check performance degradation in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1
Issue
- A performance regression for Raid6 after upgrading from
RHEL-7.0toRHEL-7.1has been found. - Linux Software raid with default setting:
RAID6with 8 disks (6 data + 2parity) - RHEL7.0 results: 8 * 150 Megabyte/sec for raid-check
- RHEL7.1 results: 8* 100Megabyte/sec for raid-check
Environment
- RHEL 7.0 kernel kernel 3.10.0-123.20.1.el7.x86_64
- Compared to RHEL 7.1 kernel 3.10.0-229.1.2.el7.x86_64
