"Secure Connection Failed" from firefox when connecting to the pcsd web interface for a RHEL 7 High Availability cluster

Issue

  • When i attempt to connect to https://<hostname>:2224 in firefox, I receive a 'Secure connection Failed' message
  • Firefox prints a "Secure Connection Failed" message when connecting to the pcsd GUI
Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to node1.example.com:2224. The server rejected the handshake because the client downgraded to a lower TLS version than the server supports.
 (Error code: ssl_error_inappropriate_fallback_alert)

    The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
    Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 with the High Availability Add On
  • pcsd running and listening on its configured port (2224 by default)
  • Using firefox on the client to connect to pcsd
