lvm is showing wwid device names from /dev/mpath instead of /dev/mapper devices
Issue
- pvs is showing multipath devices by their wwid name below /dev/mpath, e.g.
# pvs -a
PV VG Fmt Attr PSize PFree DevSize PV UUID
/dev/mpath/3600507680182071b1000000000000abc --- 0 0 1.00G
/dev/mpath/3600507680182071b1000000000000def --- 0 0 8.00G
/dev/mpath/3600507680182071b1000000000000ghi --- 0 0 50.00G
/dev/mpath/3600507680182071b1000000000000jkl --- 0 0 100.00G
- we need LVM to use the persistent multipath devices names from /dev/mapper
Environment
- RHEL5
- /etc/lvm/lvm.conf has been modified
