ipmitool ipmilan option does not work why ?.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • ipmitool ipmilan option does not work why ?.

  • On the first node, using the ipmitool to just ask for the power state gives this as result :

[root@xx ~]# ipmitool -I lanplus -H '10.1.xx.xx' -U 'root' -P '' -v chassis power status
Error loading interface lanplus
[root@xx ~]# ipmitool -I lanplus -H '10.1.xx.xx' -U 'root' -P '' -v chassis power status
Error loading interface lanplus

On the other node, it's working :

[root@xx ~]# ipmitool -I lanplus -H '10.1.xx.xx' -U 'root' -P '' -v chassis power status
Chassis Power is on
[root@xx ~]# ipmitool -I lanplus -H '10.1.xx.xx' -U 'root' -P '' -v chassis power status
Chassis Power is on
