Is it possible to define xa-datasource-class when ojdbc jar is deployed as a deployment in JBoss EAP 6?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Is it possible to define an xa-datasource-class when ojdbc6.jar is deployed as a deployable as follows :
<driver name="com.oracle.db.OracleDriver" module="com.oracle.db">
           <xa-datasource-class>oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver</xa-datasource-class>
</driver>
  • When a JDBC driver is deployed to a server group, does it automatically get added to the class path?
  • If it does get added to the class path, how can that be confirmed in this case? Can this then be used by other applications that need to reference specific database classes?

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 6.x
