Why did the Inode number change, but file name and it's contents remain the same on a VFAT file system?
Issue
- The intrusion detection system identified that the inode number of a file was changed, however it's contents remain the same.

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
- VFAT filesystem
