gettimeofday() function has lower granularity (1ms instead of 1us) on HP workstation Z620

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

The Linux libary function gettimeofday(2) behaves differently on HP Z620 workstation with BIOS Versions 3.84 and 3.85 compared to Z620 workstation with BIOS Version 3.69. Namely, the timing resolution of this function goes down from 1 micro-seconds to only 1000 micro-seconds (1 milli-second). This change has a significant negative impact on the application performance.
