How to modify the default TTL of a multicast packets in RHEL6?
Issue
- We use Multicast with java applications and the system tags our multicasts packets with a ttl=1 which cause the packet to be dropped by the next hop device.
- Is it possible to change the
TTLvalues of outgoing multicast packets with any system parameter (like sysctl)? - Is it possible to change the
TTLof outgoing multicast packets usingiptables?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.
- Multicast traffic.
