dnsmasq (in kvm) not renewing IPv4 address in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

Issue

Using the dhcp server in kvm to issue ip addresses and nat forwarding (routing) . What happens is that I boot the vm's and IP addresses are issued , but after about an hour the vm client looks to renew ther ipaddress and does not get a response. This appears to work if I restart libvirtd on the host server the the IP address will get renewed.
