Unexpected load averages when GAB module is loaded

Issue

  • When the GAB module from Symantec is loaded, load averages look like the following:
02:00:01 AM         2       893      0.42      1.57      4.65 
02:10:01 AM         1       894      0.37      1.53      4.62
02:20:01 AM         1       886      0.33      1.51      4.60 
02:30:01 AM         2       890      0.35      1.48      4.55
02:40:01 AM         3       890      0.30      1.49      4.54

Environment

  • Seen in the following, but not limited to:
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6
    • Symantec Storage Foundation 6.1
    • GAB module from Symantec is loaded
# lsmod | grep gab
