Multimaster replication in mirrormode slapd consumes all the memory

Issue

  • After updating to openldap-2.4.23-20 and configuring Multimaster replication in mirrormode slapd consumes all the memory and causing system to run out of swap cache causing oom-killer to kill slapd

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2
  • openldap-2.4.23-20.el6.x86_64
  • openldap-clients-2.4.23-20.el6.x86_64
  • openldap-servers-2.4.23-20.el6.x86_64
  • kernel-2.6.32-220.el6.x86_64
  • glibc-2.12-1.47.el6.x86_64
  • Also tried with openldap-2.4.23-22 from RHEL6.3 beta (Results are same)
