service containing SAPInstance stuck in "Starting" state after an upgrade of the SAP application in a RHEL 6 High Availability cluster with rgmanager

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • I have an SAPInstance resource which is never completing a start operation. The logs show rgmanager starting it and the output says "OK", but then it just sits there and doesn't log anything else:
Feb 27 23:25:50 rgmanager [SAPInstance] Starting SAP Instance PEP-ASCS00:
 27.02.2015 23:25:50
 Start
 OK
  • Service with an SAPInstance is not starting after SAP upgrade
  • Service shows starting in clustat whereas disabled in luci console.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
    • With the RHEL High Availability Add On
    • With RHEL for SAP
  • rgmanager
  • One or more SAPInstance resources in /etc/cluster/cluster.conf
