When provisioning virtual machines with virtual datacenter subscriptions, subscriptions are sometimes are not properly attached.

Issue

When subscribing systems via Red Hat Satellite 6 on a supported hypervisor using virtual datacenter (vDC) subscriptions, occasionally the guests do not properly attach a subscription, and are unable to use content.

In /var/log/rhsm.log, the following error message may be displayed:

Guest's host does not match owner of pool

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6.0.x
  • virt-who
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x, 6.x, 7.x
  • Supported hypervisor (VMWare, RHEV-M)
  • Red Hat Customer Portal(subscription-manager, RHSM)
