How to resolve Peer Rejected issue in Red Hat Storage Server?

Issue

  • gluster peer status shows State: Peer Rejected (Connected)

    [root@RHS3 ~]# gluster peer status
Number of Peers: 1

Hostname: <IP>/<Hostname>
Uuid: aee8a257-f784-4186-8892-995813c9d9e1
State: Peer Rejected (Connected)

  • Attempting to add a 3.1 node to a 3.0 gluster shows peer rejected. Refer KCS

  • Can be observed also with any newer versions of gluster, on gluster node that is already part of an existing cluster.

Environment

  • Red Hat Storage Server 3.X (any)
