Platform and all child-resources in JON inventory are reported as DOWN or keep cycling between UP and DOWN when Agent Max Quiet Time Allowed value is lower then Availability Scan Period

Issue

  • Agent is not identified as an available resource
  • After 2 minutes all instances appear down
  • Every 2 minutes, the instance come back UP and then go back DOWN
  • The platform and all of its child resources are marked DOWN even though they are running

Environment

  • JBoss Operations Network (JON) 3.0, 3.0.1
  • Platform in JON inventory
  • Platform's parent JON agent is using an Availability Scan Period greater than or equal to the JON server's Agent Max Quiet Time Allowed
  • JON server is using an Agent Max Quiet Time Allowed value less than or equal to a JON agent's Availability Scan Period value
