My menus in the top bar on gnome on RHEL5 are lost, how can I get them back?

My menus in the top bar on gnome on RHEL5 are lost, how can I get them back?
I have installed RHEL 5.10. All was fine. But suddenly I cannot see on the top of the desktop " Application, Places, System". They are away. How can I make this line visible?
