Issue

Logs in /var/log/messages that NFS returned a bad sequence-id error
We are using NFSv4 to a Netapp Filer
After a few of these bad sequence-id errors it was not possible any more to write or touch a file on the vFiler Share anymore.
Example of log message:

kernel: NFS: v4 server 10.0.0.138  returned a bad sequence-id error!

Environment

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.7 (kernel-2.6.18-371.el5) although likely any RHEL NFS Client can be affected.
NetApp Filer with OnTap 8.2.1P2
NFSv4
