Kubernetes is not starting pods - all pods in pending state

Issue

  • Any pod that is started stays in pending status
$ sudo kubectl get minions
NAME                    LABELS
127.0.0.1               <none>
HOST                    <none>
$ sudo kubectl get pods
NAME        IMAGES(S)   HOST    LABELS              STATUS
POD         image       HOST/   name=POD_NAME     Pending
