Resource group is moving back to original node even though stickiness is set in a RHEL 6 or 7 High Availability cluster with pacemaker

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • If a resource is moved to the other node (pcs resource move or failing the node) then once it's node is back up it will move back despite the fact that stickiness=100 is set and there are no location constraints that would out weigh that forcing it to move back.
  • I've set stickiness on a group but it still relocates back to its original node when it rejoins.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 or 7 with the High Availability Add On
  • pacemaker
  • A resource or group with the meta option stickiness set above 0, or above the score of a corresponding location constraint
    • That resource does not also have resource-stickiness set, the cluster property default-resource-stickiness is at the default value of 0, and there is no resource default resource-stickiness set
