Settings from /etc/sysconfig/pacemaker are not honored in a RHEL 6 High Availability cluster with pacemaker

Issue

  • I tried to configure a PCMK_debugfile in /etc/sysconfig/pacemaker, but the file wasn't created and nothing was logged there when I restarted the daemon
  • Settings entered in /etc/sysconfig/pacemaker are not honored

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 with the High Availability Add On
  • pacemaker releases prior to 1.1.12-8.el6
  • One or more settings in /etc/sysconfig/pacemaker need to be modified
