Why does Power Management of my RHEV-H systems not work from RHEV-M?
Issue
- Why does Power Management of my RHEV-H systems not work from RHEV-M?
In a deployment of RHEV 3.0, all the Remote Service Boards are, for security reasons, on a separate management VLAN. The RHEV-M system have been configured so that it has access to this VLAN, as it is the management console for all the RHEV-H systems.
The problem is that the design of RHEV require every single RHEV-H in the deployment to have full access to the management VLAN, or you can not use the Power Management capabilities of RHEV-M (even if you have zero interest in the HA capabilities), because the design is such that RHEV-M will proxy the commands out to the remote service boards via a random managed RHEV-H.
