RHEL6: Why gets my wlan network interface listed as "ethernet/wired" interface?
Issue
- After installation, the
ifcfgfile of a wlan adapter contains "TYPE=Ethernet" instead of "TYPE=Wireless", i.e.
DEVICE=wlan0
HWADDR=60:67:20:72:AA:16
TYPE=Ethernet
UUID=ea778ae1-490b-46ca-bab1-7039dad0a28d
ONBOOT=no
NM_CONTROLLED=yes
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
ESSID=MYESSID
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.6
- wireless interface
