BPMN2 Process designed in JBDS or jBPM Web Designer does not define the Skippable property for the User Task even though it is unchecked in the designer

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • About Skippable property of User Task even if the value on the screen is false(i.e. unchecked state) while designing the BPMN2 process , while executing such a process TaskSummary.isSkippable() API returns it's value to true. It is quite unusual.
  • Looking at the process definition it appears that the BPMN2 file is not containing the Assignment in dataInputAssociation for Skippable property for a User Task by default (i.e. if you design the process without checking the Skippable property for the User Task).
  • Do note that the issue only occurs with the BPMS 6.0.x release jars only. If the user tests it with jBPM 6.1.0.Final version jars then the issue is not reproducible.
  • Is it a known issue? Is there a way to workaround it?

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite (BPMS)
    • 6.0.x
  • JBoss Developer Studion (JBDS)
    • 7.x
