RHEL 6.2 - Only either eth0 and eth1 provide connectivity on a network restart or system restart
Issue
Only either eth0 or eth1 provide connectivity, but not both, after a network restart or system restart. Both NICs are on the same network segment. If one of the NICs is disabled then the other does not take over, and both NICs are then disabled.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2
- The system had the following NICs in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/:
ifcfg-eth0
ifcfg-eth1
ifcfg-lo
ifcfg-p1p1
ifcfg-p1p2
ifcfg-p3p1
ifcfg-p3p2
ifcfg-virbr0
ifcfg-virbr0-nic
