Boot error wwids file is read-only Can't write wwid

Issue

When it boots it throws the below error.

But the file /etc/multipath/wwids is available and having read/write permission on the server.

# ll /etc/multipath/wwids
-rw------- 1 root root 406 Nov  6 13:01 /etc/multipath/wwids

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.6
  • device-mapper-multipath
