Is VMs able to recognize directly "LUN" from Storage or HDD which is attached into RHEL5 Xen Host?

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

We are going to use RHEL5 VMs ia64 based on RHEL5 Xen Host ia64 for Disaster Recovery.
Because, our main system already was installed with RHEL5 VMs ia64 based on RHEL5 Xen Host ia64.

So, we want to make sure if their plan is possible as bleow "Architecture Plan"
As we explain it in more detail, we want VMs is able to recognize directly "LUN" from Storage or HDD which is attached into RHEL5 Xen Host.
If Direct LUN could be recognized on VMs, we will partition them and make filesystems to use backup filesystem or something else.

Is above architecture possible to implement and use?
If so, how can we use "Direct LUN" on RHEL5 Xen Host technically?
