Building a Maven EAR project through JBDS results in exception

Issue

  • Cannot clean, compile or build a Maven EAR project using JBDS 8.x. Using a fresh installation of JBDS 8 with EAP. then importing the quickstart kitchensink-ear project, I get the following error:
MojoExecutionException: Failed to generate application.xml: EarPluginException: Exception while opening file[/tmp/.mavenDeploymentDescriptorManagement
On Element:  pom.xml
In Folder:  jboss-kitchensink-ear-ear
Location:   line 1

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio (JBDS)
    • 8.x
