Why does preupgrade-assistance package not replacing the productid of RHEL6 by RHEL7 after upgrade?

Issue

The upgrade was ran from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 to 7 but during upgrade process, the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 productid was not replaced by Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 productid causing pulling of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 repositories on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 machine.
