The "modules.softdep" shows incorrect permissions in "rpm -V kernel-2.6.32-504.el6" output when a non-default mode is applied

Issue

  • The /lib/modules/2.6.32-504.el6.x86_64/modules.softdep file shows permissions of 600 on my RHEL 6.6 servers. The rpm has the permissions set to 644 though this is a file that is created during installation.
