Getting FileNotFoundException for patch.xml while using patch apply CLI command in EAP 6

Issue

  • Why JBoss EAP CLI throws the following FileNotFoundException for patch.xml while using patch apply CLI command in EAP 6 ?
  • Patching via CLI & Management Console Fails for Multiple Patches Released. While applying patch to EAP 6 getting the following exception:
[standalone@localhost:9999 /] patch apply "PATH-UP-TO\jboss-eap-6.3.1-src.zip"
java.io.FileNotFoundException: PATH-UP-TO\patch.xml (The system cannot find the file specified)
    • I am trying to apply jboss-eap-native-6.4.0-win6.x86_64.zip to a EAP 6.4.0 installation that has been patched with jboss-eap-6.4.3-patch.zip. It immediately gives me the above error.

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 6.2.x
    • 6.3.x
