Why does nouveau driver logs 'framebuffer requires contiguous bo' errors in /var/log/messages ?

Issue

  • Updated RHEL6.5 to 6.6 on a Dell Precision WorkStation T5500 with NVIDIA Corporation G96GL [Quadro FX 580] graphics card.
  • Now the /var/log/messages is getting filled with thousands of these messages:
