The Access Log Analyzer for Red Hat Directory Server logfiles uses excessive memory when parsing large logfiles
Issue
- when running logconv.pl to report on a very large amount of logging (typically 7GB or more of access logs) logconv.pl tries do do this all in memory, so while processing the logs available memory shrinks until it is out, and then paging starts until even paging space is low, which starts to freeze the system.
Environment
- Red Hat Directory Server (RHDS) 9.1
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.5 and earlier
