Getting error message "/root/dead.letter" after sending mail from "mailx" command.

Issue

  • After sending mail from mailx command, getting following message:
 [root@test ~]# echo mail | mail -vvv -s test root
Resolving host xx.xx.xx.xx . . . done.
Connecting to xx.xx.xx.xx . . .could not connect: No route to host
"/root/dead.letter" 11/314
. . . message not sent.

  • IP xx.xx.xx.xx belongs to other virtual system.

  • Mail flow is working fine from telnet and sendmail command.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • Mailx
