How to invoke EJBs deployed on WebLogic from EAP6 instance ?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • How calling remote Weblogic EJB from JBoss EAP client is possible ?
  • Our application is in the process of being migrated from Weblogic onto EAP 6. The application invokes remote EJBs (hosted on other Weblogic servers) as a part of certain flows (& during application startup).
  • What is the recommended way to achieve this?
  • We are Migrating our web application with embedded EJBs library. There are several applications which we want to migrate from weblogic to JBoss. Some of this applications use remote ejbs that we should migrate as well. Same machine with both JBossEAP and Weblogic instances on it.
    • If we deploy on JBoss a remote ejb that probably is deployed on weblogic too there could be overlapping problems? (e.g. when weblogic's applications try to call that remote ejb they will continue to call weblogic's remote ejb? what will JBoss do in that scenario?)
    • If we would provide weblogic ejbs's interfaces to the JBoss applications, Can we call remote ejbs deployed on Weblogic from JBoss applications? Is there some best practice to do that?

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 6.x
