Multipath configuration for mixed 1Gbps and 10Gbps iSCSI links
Issue
- Multipath configuration for mixed 1Gbps and 10Gbps iSCSI links
- SAN storage with 4 10Gb/s and 4 1Gb/s iSCSI ports. Two servers with two 10Gb/s and two 1Gb/s network cards that are configured for iSCSI.
- Multipathing only shows two priority groups only (for SAN controller A and B) but can it be four (for controller A and B, and for different NIC link speeds).
- Is it recommended to mix iSCSI link speeds like 1 gigabit and 10 gigabit?
- Can I have different iSCSI NICs with different throughput?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Linux Device Mapper Multipath
- Linux software iSCSI initiator
- SAN storage with 4 10Gb/s and 4 1Gb/s iSCSI ports
- Two servers with two 10Gb/s and two 1Gb/s network interface cards
