Why does RHEL7 anaconda try to get a DHCP IP address even if kickstart on the DVD ISO has mentioned static IP in a DHCP less network?
Issue
- The kickstart file is embedded in the DVD is of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, and while booting with the same,
anaconda
tries to get DHCP IP address. - The network doesn't have DHCP server, so the installation fails.
- The following
network
line is mentioned incdrom:/ks.cfg
file
network --bootproto=static --device=eth0 --ip=192.168.0.1 --netmask=255.255.255.0 --gateway=192.168.0.254 --nameserver=192.168.0.254,4.2.2.2 --activate
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
- Kickstart DVD iso
