Why does RHEL7 anaconda try to get a DHCP IP address even if kickstart on the DVD ISO has mentioned static IP in a DHCP less network?

Issue

  • The kickstart file is embedded in the DVD is of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, and while booting with the same, anaconda tries to get DHCP IP address.
  • The network doesn't have DHCP server, so the installation fails.
  • The following network line is mentioned in cdrom:/ks.cfg file
network --bootproto=static --device=eth0 --ip=192.168.0.1 --netmask=255.255.255.0 --gateway=192.168.0.254 --nameserver=192.168.0.254,4.2.2.2 --activate
