Why is hostname of the serverX.example.com VM, which has been assigned by DHCP server, not preserved accross reboots ?

Issue

  • Hostname of serverX is reset to "localhost" on reboot.
  • Hostname of the server1.example.com VM, which has been previously got from DHCP server, is not preserved, and it will be lost during reboot.
