Why is the vsyscall64 kernel parameter not present in newer realtime kernels?

Issue

I'm using the RT kernel 3.8.13-rt27.40.el6rt.x86_64. The parameter kernel.vsyscall64 is mentioned in the Realtime Tuning Guide but it is not present in the kernel anymore.
Is there any reason why it was removed?
