Issue

  • Entries similar to the following are being written to /var/log/messages on RHEV systems;
Sep  9 16:40:57 hostname kernel: scsi: host 0 channel 3 id 0 lun4194304 has a LUN larger than allowed by the host adapter
Sep  9 16:40:57 hostname kernel: scsi: host 0 channel 3 id 0 lun4194560 has a LUN larger than allowed by the host adapter
Sep  9 16:40:57 hostname kernel: scsi: host 0 channel 3 id 0 lun4194816 has a LUN larger than allowed by the host adapter

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3.x
  • RHEV systems with;
    • HP Smart Array controllers
    • vdsm-4.13.2-0.x or earlier versions
