Why are 'ls' colors lost when ssh to another machine from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7?

Issue

  • When I open a terminal on a local machine (RHEL7) 'ls' shows colors, but if I ssh to another linux host with RHEL5 from the same terminal, the colors are lost.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0
