Availability of the issue_lip with the Brocade bfa driver

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • Is it possible to scan new targets with a Brocade HBA, using bfa module without rebooting ?
  • Can I issue a Loop Initialization Protocol (LIP) with bfa drivers ?

This is usually done with the following command :

# echo 1 > /sys/class/fc_host/host/issue_lip

But this file does not exist if the HBA is based on Brocade bfa driver.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), all versions
  • Brocade driver (bfa)
